Welcome

The Bolitho School is academically strong and achieves impressive results at all age levels. One of the corner-stones of this success is the size of the teaching groups.

Even by Independent Sector standards numbers are very small. At the time of writing the average group size in the age range between 5 and 13 is fourteen pupils. GCSE and Sixth Form groups are smaller still because of the different options open to students. As a consequence pupils receive individual attention and can develop at their own optimal pace. Goals are set for individual pupils and the School does everything possible to ensure that each pupil reaches their full potential.

The academic record of the School speaks for itself. The School emerges each year as one of the leading academic schools of the county in the academic league tables. Middle School pupils take the Key Stage Three tests a year early (Year 8 instead of Year 9). The greatest advantage of this academic strategy is that it permits students to spend three years over their GCSE courses, instead of the normal two year course. This helps to fulfil academic potential and to maximise GCSE grades and to make the course more enjoyable for pupils.
